Indian Lake Park Farmington, Iowa
The Park and the City both lie on the banks of the Des Moines River, and are just on the border of Shimek State Forest. The lake, the river, and the surrounding forest all offer many activities for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Park is open year-round, and offers cabin rentals for lodging, RV and camper hookups, as well as primitive camping sites. Indian Lake Park, therefore, is an ideal destination for anyone seeking beautiful scenery and a peaceful setting.
About the Park Indian Lake Park is a 177-acre, city owned park. This delightful retreat is an ideal location not only for fishermen, but for picnickers and campers alike. In addition to the 44-acre, no wake lake, the Park has many tree-shaded areas for the non-fisherman, as well. A lovely two-mile nature interpretive trail encompasses the lake and is great for hiking, biking, and cross country skiing in the winter. For overnight visitors, there are 2 wood framed cabins and 4 renovated trailer-cabins available for rent. There are several campsites available for RV's and campers, as well as numerous tent sites. Please visit the Cabins & Camping page for the list of prices. An enclosed stone lodge is available to host parties and family gatherings. Two open shelters are ideal spots for picnics and events. And, a shower house is available from April through October. Whether your interest is camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, or a reunion, you will find Indian Lake Park to be the perfect setting. We hope you will visit us time and time again. |
